Playing card auction NON-NEVADA

MOGH Donation and auction to benefit the CC>CC

Many years ago when we moved to Las Vegas, my wife Sandi, and Janice O’Neal started a project to collect and catalog as many casino related playing cards as possible. What started as one to two nights a week for several years produced one of the most complete collections possible.

To share this collection and all the related information, I published a series of six books relating to casino playing cards from Nevada, California, Atlantic City, Colorado, South Dakota, Washington, Michigan, Indian Casino’s, Cruise ships and foreign casinos.

When Janice passed away several years ago, the project came to a standstill. Janice had assembled her collection and Sandi had a duplicate collection. We drove to Las Vegas from Ohio this year for the convention and brought along the playing card collection Janice had assembled. Six large binders, almost 75 pounds, containing one of the most complete collection of Nevada playing cards at the time. We also brought along Janice’s collection of casino playing cards from the other areas as listed above, again 5 additional large binders, another 75 pounds. All 11 binders of Janice O’Neil’s collection were donated to the MOGH at the convention. I have come across approx. eight more binders of Janice’s collection, mainly Atlantic City, Indian casinos, and many misc. such as manufacturer samples, and a lot more, and these also will be sent out to the MOGH.

Now, we still have Sandi’s NON-NEVADA collection, almost an exact duplicate. We have decided to have an on-line auction for the NON-NEVADA cards with ALL proceeds from the auction going to the CC>CC. The last auction for the Nevada collection raised $450.00 for the club. The auction for the NON-NEVADA cards from other States and Countries will now start. This collection includes – Riverboats: IL, IN, IA, LA, MS, MO – Colorado, souvenir, Canada, Racetracks, Caribbean, Australia, wet ships, Atlantic City, Detroit, WA & CA card rooms, Indian casinos from AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, IA, KS, LA, MI, MN, MS, NV, NM, NY, ND, OK, OR, SD, WA & WI, plus some foreign countries and a whole section featuring fancy face cards.

Total cards in this auction is approx 3662. Amount bid for auction goes to the CC>CC.

The auction starts now, post your bid on the chipboard. Starting bid will be $100.00, which is a bargain for what you could receive. Remember the CC>CC is a tax-deductible organization. The auction will end at Midnight, EST, August 31, 2016. The winning bid amount will be sent to the Club Treasurer and once he has the funds the cards will be shipped to the winner. Shipping is extra and will depend on whether you want just the cards, the cards in 9 space plastic pages. This is your option. I would estimate shipping at worst to be about $40.00 if you take cards, and pages.

If you collect playing cards, you know what this collection is worth. There are many older cards, and many seldom seen cards. Any questions please contact me at jimsteffner@mail.com
