What I am opposed to is slabbing. What I stated was that adopting a numerical system is a precursor to that.
I very much doubt that you would ever see a slabbed chip with a designation of very little wear.
I think that this numerical system would have severe difficulties when it came to the different types of chips and manufacturing processes. If you had a metal inlay rated at, lets say a 65 how would that translate to a chipco or a paulson? On the same token [no pun intended] If I used a physical description in 10 words or less it wouldn't you agree it would tell you a lot more?
By you assigning a number, it is merely YOUR opinion. Your description would describe physical flaws.
You state you merely want to associate a number to a phrase. WHY?
