I went in there a year or so ago, trying to buy one of the then-new $1 hot-stamped chips. I had been forewarned not to expect success. Sure enough the cashier said, "NO!!!!" So I asked, "Well, can I buy a $5 chip instead?"

This took her by surprise and she mulled it over a moment and said, "I guess so. Management didn't tell me not to sell fives."

So I left with a Silver Saddle chip in my pocket after all.

When in Las Vegas for the Convention, I drove by the Silver Saddle around 9 PM one night (going from Fremont Street to Boulder Station) and it already appeared closed - almost no one in the parking lot.
