Greetings and Salutations Fellow Chippers.
Another story of what the Post Office can do to a Chip Shipment.
This Priority Mail arrived today:
Oh Damn thought I. Better get the camera out for pictures of my splintered and powdered chips.
And as I looked harder, I saw that half the envelope had been soaked in, I hope, Water. Maybe Mud inside instead of powder with the chip fragments.
Well, the happy ending is that the sellers, Mitch and Cheryl Heller, are experienced chip sellers and packers. They had the chips well secured in an inner bubble envelope, so my new toys arrived alive and well despite the post office's best efforts to trash the package
P.S. Note that taping the sides of a priority mailer is essential. I didn't picture it well, but there were several other weak spots where the envelope got wet that only held due to the tape. On the front if you look closely you can see the serrations of the tape cut, where whatever tried to take a bite out of the envelope, tore it right to the tape line.
P.P.S. Note to sellers who just drop chips in ANY envelope. A loose chip could have escaped from the hole in the front of this mailer...
