Got there so late on Saturday afternoon that the registration desk lady took pity on me and let me in for free. Whooo-hooo! Dennis Berry was right, there weren't a whole lot of casino chips to be found, but (knowing which tables to scout from last year's visit) - I managed to score a few, at decent prices, while running around like a madman. Also a few tokens, some from Calif. Indian casinos. I'm just a sucker for Jackson Rancheria acorns.
High point of the show, meeting Gary Snover, discoverer of the rare "twenty-minute" San Manuel chips. Second high point, meeting Bob McColum. And the Imperial Storm Troopers outside the show entrance, princesses, a ewok, and some dude with bat-wings. There might have been a Star Wars Comic Convention going on at the same time as the Coin Show but I rather think . . . people in Long Beach dress like that all the time.
