For years I have been putting the scans of my collection on a little netbook laptop so I would know what I have in my collection and not buy a bunch of duplicates (which I somehow manage to do anyway). My netbook battery is dying so I was going to put the scans on my inexpensive tablet. When I open up the scans they are scrambled (I have the folders sorted by different collecting areas). I also have my illegal club chips in an Excel file which my tablet can't open.

So I am thinking of getting a new tablet just to look at my scans at the convention. That means I am not planing on spending $600 to get a new Ipad so I can use it once a year. The question is what type of tablet do I need so I can open several folders of pictures at the same time and what can I get to open the Excel file. Open Office? Or am I just better off getting a new battery for the netbook?
