I 've had an interest in the old Arrow Head Inn near Cincinnati, Ohio for a few years now. One of the main players in that clubs location was Ed Gaither. It was on his golf course property the Nason Bros. operated the club. For so long now we have never seen a picture of Ed. I found an old shot from a saloon ad in the 1901 Cincinnati Police and Municipal guide. It appears he was quite the dandy and self promoter back at the turn of the century. Ed was a black guy, which makes his success in politics, saloon, theater and golf course ownership a little unusual back in those days. He was the first guy in Cincinnati to own a Rolls Royce. He brought two of them back from England in 1908.
