Since I learned about the Borland's chip I have always wondered if they really belong in a casino chip collection
or even just casino memorabilia collection ??

After all,

- They are not "casino chip" as they were never made to be used as such...
- No casino have ever accepted them...
- They are not memorabilia as they do not represent any era or anything in particular...
- They are not even fakes, as he has admitted to be just making them for the public to buy .....
- Basically they do not qualify in any definition of a true Casino chip...

What they are.,

- Clay decorative pieces with designs similar to that of some real Casino Chips
- They are a "chip" by definition mostly because of their shape... like a potato chip...or a technological chip.
- They are collectibles, just like many companies create little figures, airplanes in a Cereal Box, or create special items that are issued in series with the only purpose being making money by selling to collectors of such item,..

My point....
- Should we continue to humor the creator of them who is laughing all the way to the bank...
- Can we in any way justify them being in a "Casino Chip" catalog or guide...other than to say they are not "casino chips" to avoid confusion.
- And if added to the catalog to say they are not, can we in any way justify putting a price or value on them... giving them automatic validity.

... If anybody wants to collect them, just like people collect almost anything....is great..collecting is great and specially for mind relaxation..
...NO PROBLEM whatsoever with it... really no problem..any one can collect anything and I applaud this..

But can we truly justify having them in catalogs, guides or any paraphernalia only dedicated to true casino items or real casino chips... I REALLY THINK NOT..
