Here are a few photos of the club that's occupied 233 North Virginia Street in Reno for the past 80 years.

In the '30s it was called the Virginia Bar. In the '40s, it became the English-themed Mixson's Piccadilly Bar.

In 1952, it became The Nugget. In 1954 (after Idaho outlawed slot machines), Idaho businessmen Dick Graves and Jim Kelley took over The Nugget (and would open several other Nuggets around the region).

Mixson's Piccadilly Bar at left around October 1951. At right is the planned Golden Gate Club in Ernest Primm's Lincoln Apartments building. (The Golden Gate Club never opened when Reno decided not to issue gaming licenses for the west side of North Virginia Street. Primm opened Café Primadonna in the building the next year.)

Jim Kelley's Nugget around September 1959, after partner Dick Graves sold his interest in the club and opened his own Nugget in Sparks.
