I went to mail a package today and the clerk asked me like they always do is there anything liquid, fragile or perishable in the package.
I answered Fragile as I was mailing chips expecting her to stamp it with her "fragile" stamp.
She instead asked me if I would like to purchase a "Fragile" Sticker.
I said OK, I will play along, what is a fragile sticker?
She then pulled out a roll of yellow stamps and told me they were $10 each.
I asked her if this was something new and was told that they have been using these since January but they were told to start pushing them to people who answered yes to the fragile question. I then asked her if she could just stamp it with the rubber stamp as thy always do.
She told me that she could if she could find it BUT, the PO does not recognize that stamp anymore.
Looks like this is another way to not only screw the public out of $10 but I can see them refusing to pay damage claims on packages that didnt pay to have the sticker.
Anyone else run into this yet?
