Lots of the chips, particularly foreign, where the use was in seaside casinos, change color when they are used for a while. Keep the used chips in your collection and the reference samples nearby to resolve color questions. You can often get the notched/drilled samples at a significant discount as few collectors like them. Remember, these are cancelled at the manufacturer's order not at the casino's. Many casinos that cancelled older chips did their own drilling and the chips may be well used.
