So in theory if a chip scan at 300 dpi and is sized at 450 by 450 pixels uses around 100 Kilobytes. So a Gigabyte is going to hold 10,000 chip images.
So the average collector would have a hard time filling up a Terabyte with scans (Terry and Ross would be exceptions to the rule ).
