A chip is listed on the ChipGuide or Dick's site we should try to include as much info as possible. I'm not saying to go crazy, but to maybe list the owners names. Many of our listings don't even have addresses.Its hard for me to believe a chip is from somewhere if there isn't even an address listed. I do believe that early on in our hobby people put names to chips without any evidence. Some might of just to sell chips or other for no apparent reason at all. That has done our hobby a huge injustice.
The MEC chips (not California) is an example of this. They put on the name Miles E. Cluster on this chip and it stuck for many years. In fact, there are many people who still insist that it is.
Another example is the Mac's Club in Reno. It was only technically open for table games for a year(cheating), but there were chips from 4 different manufactures (now only 3)listed as being from there.(They were still a slot place for 10 years) The yellow Square in Circle mold has recently been deleted.
