Just learned that Mortimer's in Marina, California, closed at the end of last September:
On my last visit there, in summer of 2015, a strange thing happened at the cage: I was refused chips by a new cashier who said, "If I sell you even one, I could get into trouble!" I suspected something was amiss, when a cardroom would get into trouble for selling a chip for playing at the tables.
Always thought it was pure genius, naming a casino after Mickey Mouse's evil rival.
