Current TGT entry.

Wilbur H Clark - Long Beach, CA - Probably used in Clarks leases. ( meaning The SS Rex and other places)

Our "Friend OF the Hobby" did a quickie and put an end to this nonsense.

Definitely not the well known Las Vegas casino operator Wilbur Clark (not even a close relative. vbg

William “Bill” Harold Clark, born 1911 at an Army post in Rhode Island, moved to the LA area when a young man. The chips were delivered to 1631 Alamitos in 1940 which at the time was the location of a café recently opened by Clark called the “Alamo.” He operated the Alamo Cafe at the location for over 20 years, adding a billiard parlor next door in the 1950’s. He changed the name to the Cozy Cafe in the early 1960’s and was gone by the mid-1960’s.

1945:

1955 (the Ray mentioned below is Bill Clark’s brother):

structure on Alamitos Avenue which housed Clark’s café and billiard parlor:

BTW, Ed Hertel is in Egypt, He got some info that a couple "ILLEGAL" casinos were operating in a pyramid back during Roman times. Go get the chips, Ed. vbg
