I have been on the other side and have completely understood when someone has been honest.

The only time there has been a sour taste is when I have won an auction at a good price and then the seller doesn't complete - for example I bought a small collection not long ago (or at least I had the winning bid) and the buyer then said one chip had been lost. I said no problem, still happy with the others at the winning price but then just got silence and eventually saw some of the chips being sold elsewhere which meant he had sold off-Ebay to someone else.

You have been completed fair here and nothing to worry about in my view
