Playing with real copper cents in Reno, 1951 grin

At a supermarket downtown that had automatic sliding glass doors. I was 9-years old...

Met Sinatra as he got out of a cab in front of the Riverside while I was waiting for my mom out front who went inside to see a friend... Shook his hand after I said "Hi, I know who you are.."

...and saw Ava Gardner at the post office one day.

We lived at Mrs Mack's, 955 Imperial Blvd. and had lots of friends in the neighborhood. Used to help "the twins" fold the newspaper for delivery on their bikes... and walked downtown many, many days visiting Harolds Club inside where there was a long counter and a few one armed bandit machines on a step-up platform.

Also visited Virginia City Bucket of Blood and other places and while entering Carson City one morning we had pancakes at a diner where everyone was so friendly.

Also, one day while at the train station, we met a man and his wife who we knew from back home.

Never returned... though I think I saw everything there was to see in Reno that summer...
