The easy way is to use your own hosting. Let's say your post on the board points to picture A at location X. If you change what picture A looks like, your post doesn't know that - it just points to picture A at location X.

So you edit your picture A to cross out the sold items, re-save it with the same name and to the same location, and now your post points to the same location, but the revised photo.
