There are people that can adequately fulfill certain tasks or duties, but you certainly would not want them to be in a position to complete other tasks or duties. One of the most important things that ANY board member of any BOARD has to have is their ability to respond to both questions and criticism. Doug Smith is a perfect example of someone that responds to questions and also accepts criticisms, most times even when those criticisms are not warranted. I know that Jay is also of that same personality. I have no doubt of Jay's abilities to represent both the as well as the hobby in any type of meeting / discussion / negotiation in any professional setting...Mr. Pavlik does not instill that same sense of confidence with me. I just cannot picture in my mind Joe sitting down at a table of casino or gaming executives trying to present the goals & aspirations of both the & our hobby...with Jay, I can. While I can appreciate Joe's ability to take pictures of chips & buildings and his ability to post stories about news items going on in Las Vegas, that's not really what this club/hobby needs as someone tasked with moving this hobby forward...and it needs to move forward. Reading Joe's posts in Archive 17 is really quite enlightening as to the type of person that is looking to assume a position of leadership & importance in this hobby.
