Re: Why do some people not ship internationally?

I used to ship internationally. It was kinda fun, and I did get higher prices for a lot of things selling outside the USA. Sent a lot of stuff to Canada, England, Germany, Australia.

But then eBay stepped in and ruined things. Used to be my Canadian buyers could get a US Dollar Money Order from Canada Post for a nominal fee and send that to me. Can't do that on eBay anymore, if you stick to the rules. Having to use PayPal and put up with their and eBay's automatic refunds on any complaint, make the risk WAY too high (annoying). The hassle of it, and the stress when they take $$$ out of your account for no good reason is not worth it. I get scammed enough by USA buyers, without having to add the lowlifes from overseas where in addition to the item lost, I loose $10, $15 or more for postage instead of $2.50, when they automatically suck the refund out of my account.

Then there is the Item not as described. The tracking, if you could get it, shows that they got it, so they file the not as described. Now you have the choice to the pay the Int'l postage to get the item back, or just let them keep it. So, you're out $10 in postage both ways. Loose $20 in postage on an item you sold for maybe $50... or they keep it and loose the say $20 you paid for the item and the $10 in original postage. Either way, Why bother?

I am happy to ship internationally. All you have to do is send me US Dollar denominated funds, not through any credit card that features chargebacks... and accept the risk of the package being lost in the mail. On those one sided terms, in my favor for a change, I still sell a few items to Non-USA friends and old customers.

P.S. I offer eBay's Global shipping on most of my items. I state in my auction listings that it is extremely EXPENSIVE... I've still had a package lost by them and never received a refund from them for my loss, despite what they trumpet in their sales pitch, although they did refund the buyer for the charges he paid their service.
