Re: Does anyone have any idea who...

From a site by Philip S. (Not sure of how to spell his last name):

At 27 U.S. Highway 50 in Stateline, Nevada, the Twin States Lodge was built in 1947, on land originally owned by D. W. Park and sold to Wayne McLeod and Salvatore Orester Terrano. Sal "Tar Baby" Terrano, a convicted drug trafficker, was denied gaming and liquor permits by Douglas County Sheriff James Farrell in 1948.

The club closed and re-opened in 1949 as the Tahoe Colonial Club, which operated until 1954. In 1956 it became the Tahoe Palace Casino, then the Tahoe Plaza Casino in 1959, until it was bought by Bill Harrah in 1961, who turned it into Harrah's Recreation Center through the 1970s.
