the Chip Guide also has a R next to the denomination for this chip, which has a dollar sign and - I'm only assuming here - is used when U.S. dollars, not Russian rubles, are in play. If so, that would mean the Chip Guide is wrong in this case. That's why I asked the question initially.

It seems logical that only the number on a Russian chip means rubles.
