When I was young, I remember that a rich relative of mine, who used to run his own business, saved the envelopes that had uncanceled postage stamps on them. When he accumulated enough of them, he would soak them in water, place the wet stamps on a large sheet and let them dry, press them in books, and re-use them (I think it is against the law (or post office rules) even if the stamps are uncanceled.)
