Responding to Gene and John

Gene - Ah-haa! I suspected something of that kind. Flamingo isn't one of the Harrah's companies, so somebody has to be paid for walking down the street. The cashiers seemed just too bubbly and happy to get their mits on the Competition's chips! Cromwell and SLS scored! (They were only a couple of $1 chips at each place, so the runner may have made 8 cents on the deal....) But it was 35 degrees that night and I didn't care to do the walking. Not with zombies tending to drive cars onto the sidewalks, too.

Most of my dealings with Las Vegas chips involve moving them OUT of casinos in my trousers pockets, but these dollar chips were all common, current issues (some slightly scratched) and not selling on eBay or trading at club meetings, so I was glad to get some greenbacks back, the better to buy new chips in the future.

John: I drove past the Silver Saddle at around dusk, which would put the hour at 4:30 PM or so. No cars at all in the parking lot, no lights on in the building. It was Sunday the 27th. Maybe the casino is closed for the Lord's Day?
