The biggest eyesore in downtown Reno for many years has been the building that once housed the eight-story Kings Inn Hotel Casino. It closed in 1986 and has been vacant ever since. But the building finally has been sold, and the new owners have started construction on what they're describing as upscale housing called the 3rd Street Flats. The top picture shows the Kings Inn when it was open, the middle picture shows what it has looked like for most of the last 30 years and the bottom picture shows a rendering of what it is planned to look like. This will be a big improvement for a part of town that really needs it.
