Here is a picture of a tour bus looking over Avalon Bay,Ca years ago when the Steamer pier was there,you can see the steam ship docked to the pier and the Casino at the point,casino meaning gathering place,it was built for the big bands,Glenn Miller,Jimmy Dorsey and such.thought I'd share another photo.The other pier just above the bus is the pleasure pier which is still there.I think they tore down the wrong pier,should have left the Steamer Pier,was much better built.
