This aluminum NCV slot token was discovered in a box of old coins at a Houston-are flea market, and the price was right -- free. So, doing some research on it revealed it was once used by Big Dog's Hospitality Group, 4547 N. Rancho Drive, Las Vegas, NV as a special promotion token over 10 years ago. According to their website, "Big Dog's Draft House - your Neighborhood Brewpub & Casino - features an unique, grandfathered 35 machine casino license. In addition to more gaming choices, the tavern operations legally allows for food, beverage, gaming and smoking, if you are so inclined."
After a telephone conversation, I learned the token was given to guests -- who enjoyed the draft house's restaurant-- and it was played in a specially-marked video poker machine offering a combination of winning hands that earned the player special bonus items. A winning hand of 4 of a kind, flush, straight earned the player a free meal or specially crafted beer like a "Growler," a 72-ounce draft beer. Or, another poker hand could give free slot play, etc. The promotion was very popular and ended in 2005.
