What happens to casinos when they die (go out of business)? In Northern Nevada, there is a good chance they'll get a second life as apartments or condos.
Here is one example: The Riverboat Hotel Casino in Reno closed in 1998 and now is a group of apartments, though it has kept the name Riverboat Hotel. The Golden Phoenix and Sundowner also have followed that path.
And the biggest eyesore in town - the Kings Inn, which has been closed for more than 30 years and has remained vacant during that time - recently was sold with plans to make it what is being called an upscale condo complex.
