I have seen electronic table games where the dealer uses live cards but the wagering is electronic, as well as those like at Rocky's where the computer deals the cards and the dealer works the chips. The advantage to this second approach is that you get the "socialization" of live blackjack, while the dealer requires much less training since they're only pushing buttons and doing what the computer says to do. Learning to actually deal cards is the hard part. This makes the game cheaper to operate. These types of games serve as a useful alternative to regular live blackjack in jurisdictions that don't allow real cards because of the possibility of cheating, and small towns with no other alternatives. They don't stand a chance in downtown Reno with "real" blackjack next door.
