Rocky's Sports Pub & Grill didn't last long in downtown Reno. That's too bad, and it's a little surprising. It had a great location (on Virginia Street, right across the street from Harrah's), and its pub had great food. But the gaming? That was a problem.
Rocky's blackjack tables were unlike any I had seen before in that you played against a machine. You sat at a regulation blackjack table containing a video poker-like machine instead of actual cards but with a human dealer standing behind it. You bet real chips, and the dealer paid you in chips when you beat the machine and took your chips when you lost. But the machine concept never caught on with the public.
I believe the $25 chips from Rocky's are reasonably scarce. I have one on this week (see link below).
