The usual references show that the Hawthorne Bar was open from the 1930's - 1950, then the name changed to Hawthorne Club 1950-1973
There were no listings at all, in our phone books, for Hawthorne Bar; the first listing I found for Hawthorne Club was 1956
1938 phone book shows only 16 listings for Hawthorne !!
