I was playing blackjack there in 1963 when Pappy Smith walked up to the table and told the dealer that it was eveyone's lucky night - to pay everyone double if they won on that hand. I don't recall if I won or not - I'm sure I was only betting a dollar anyway. We moved to Long Beach at the end of 1963 and I didn't make it back to Harold's Club until after Hughes bought it and ruined it. It was a great club - always full and always friendly - I loved the place.
