I drove all the way from Santa Monica to Michigan about 2400 miles total.There is a detour also to take a roundabout way through Las Vegas too. But did not take that route.We did see the Meteor Crater a couple miles off the side to see and was worth it.Also the Petrified forest just a loop off to the side.Oatman was a funny little town with donkeys roaming down the street.St Luis arch and before that the Merrimac Caverns another side trip,as mentioned.Then we stopped in Chicago for the night and saw the sign.It was the end for us but originally the beginning.Then Michigan the next day.
