Looking at the edge of the token it is clear that both sides are equally worn but there is a line/groove showing two of something came together to make the token. So I should refer to it as a slug or counterfeit token. It must have been in use quite some time to be equally worn on both sides. I don't understand why it makes sense financially to do something like this. Thanks for your help in solving the riddle.
