My brother were staying at the Sands LV for three nights, about 20 years ago. We were playing the horses in the small race book, just off the casino floor. We got very lucky and were making 100.00 bets and won many bets. They gave players points for amount wagered, and we had thousands of points. They had gifts to choose when you redeem your points. We wanted leather jackets, really nice, with the Sands logo on back, and a bunch of other stuff. We were checking out in the morning, and said should we get the jackets before dinner, oh just wait until the morning and pick everything up after we check out. In the morning, the hall way from the room wings leading to the casino, had guards before you got to the casino, saying casino and race book closed, I think you could cash chips at the cage, but race book pts. were not redeemable. Everything was closed, and we had to vacate our room by side door where you parked your car. I think we checked out at the front desk. I can't remember the race book Mgr. name, but he was famous in LV, went to work for some other casinos in LV and I was on his mailing list for years, getting comps. (maybe Bob G.) my memory is not very good these day's. But we were upset we didn't get the jackets the evening before. I Can't remember for sure the name on our room key's, maybe Santa Anita?
