The article provides a good summary of how Cardrooms came to be prominent in Southern California and specifically how the six Gardena cardrooms sprang up and blazed a trail for legal poker rooms later in the rest of California. I am listing some early Gardena cardroom chips on ebay this week including some of the 5c chips I offered here a week or so ago. Hope you enjoy the history and you give some consideration to adding California cardrooms to your chip collection as well as those of the historic casinos in Nevada and the later ones in other parts of the nation.
