In Reno, go to Arlington and Island Street, and you can dip your toes in the Truck Truck River. Pay strict attention to the highway sign on the River at the Sierra Avenue bridge. Only time I ever saw a highway sign directing river traffic!
Try winning $300 or more at the Silver Legacy. Peppermill and Atlantis south of town are a bit more modern, the buffets are pricey but good. Skip the Lobster Dinner at Boomtown unless you care to drive 20 miles out of your way and wait 2 hours for a dried up little tail.
In Tahoe, go over to the Blue Bird Motel on the California side and fumigate the rooms. I'm staying there on October 23-24, and don't want to see any bugs.
If you get over to Fernley, 30 miles east of Reno, go check on my wayward tenants to make sure they didn't leave the garbage can out on the street AGAIN, for which I will be find by the Homeowners Association.
There are no longer any card games in Virginia City but you can see the Suicide Table and meet really strange people walking the streets wearing real guns.
