You promised a story - and here it is. I like that. What little research I did into the Vacaville F. D. was that it sponsored ice-cream socials in more recent years. I guess fewer people complain about ice cream than losing card games. It was something along the lines of my guesswork, except Dixon getting Vacaville's chips too. As long as those two fire departments were on friendly terms! (The Great Chicago Fire became great after two rival fire departments, arriving on the scene at about the same time, took to brawling and destroying the other team's equipment rather than putting out the small fire.)
