This is where you can make a stab at hitting their promotional group by telling them to cancel your service as you are going with CenturyLink/PrismTV. Call them up and get an idea of what the bill will be in their promo period and what it will be afterwards so you can judge what you are getting from Cox. Cox thinks you won't leave, you've been with them 25 years, you are on their safe list.

Cable has very little competition. In our area it is Cox, CenturyLink, or going with local TV/Netflix/Hulu. And you will still need an internet connection from Cox or CenturyLink.
