Here you go, Alan Schuyler! A story...

...to go along with your new MoGH Auction win. grin

As many know when they released the $5 Stu Unger chip in 1999, they spelled his name wrong! It should be spelled with an 'a' as Ungar instead of an 'e' as they had it. They never did do a corrected version. But a couple of years later they did spell in correctly when they did a $5 chip of Stuey for the Milionaire Series. They also spelled it correctly on his $2.50 chip.

So one day during the WSOP in 1999 I sit down to a 7-Card Stud satellite. On the table behind me was poker player Marsha Waggoner waiting for a satellite to start. I knew Marsha because her daughter was my girlfriend at the time. Sitting next to Marsha was a guy I did not know. He had one of the chips in his hand & was looking at it. I said too bad they spelled his name wrong. The guy says it was not spelled wrong. I said do you want to bet? He replies how much. I say $5,000 which is what I had on me. Before he can reply the dealer in my game taps me on the shoulder. It was my turn to act on my hand. I look down & I have rolled up 10's! I end up winning the hand. I then turn around to the guy & ask if we had a bet. He says no, as he is now looking up at the wall in front of him & there is Stuey's photo with the name spelled correctly. sad Later Marsha told me the guy was a multi millionaire & had the $5,000 on him & was going to bet. But in the time it took me to finish playing that hand he was looking around & spotted Stuey's photo. I ended up winning the satellite, but those rolled up 10's cost me $5,000!
