You should get Armin Pfaender's California Guide. You could probably borrow it from the Club library, or buy one direct from Armin. He posts here from time to time and you could get his email address from one of the posts if you like.

It's a big book with a couple of hundred pages and lists all issued chips that Armin knows about.

Another source would be the California section of The Chip Guide on-line. If you do a query of California Card Rooms $5 chips, you will get about 1000 of them. That should get your started but my guess is there are probably another 500-1000 that haven't been added yet.

If you just want a count of CA card rooms in total, you can go to the main page of The Chip Guide and fill in the "Selections" part of the California page. I get about 1500 card rooms in all without restricting it to those that issued $5 chips.
