No..it's definately a burn mark..

My theory, this chip was obsolete when the fire occurred. Based on what the dealer's dad told him about where he found it, that chip appears (IMO) to have lodged itself in the carpet years ago, and was only discovered when they were removing the charred mess. My guess it was face down -- no burn marks on it. I know it has not value, but the guy was willing to give it to me rather than sell it, if I could find out anything about it. I told him the chip was not in play at the time of the fire. It's probably collectible to someone. I guess we can call it a "cool chip after a hot fire."
