Last Friday evening, Harris County Sheriffs Deputy Darrel Golforth was ambushed and executed just a few miles from my house.

Deputy Golforth was shot several times in the back while pumping gas by an unprovoked male who was fueled by the harsh rhetoric we have all seen in the news over the past several months.

There is no doubt that this crime was racially motivated.

Most of you are unaware of this event that we mourn here in Houston.

There has been no 24 hour national news coverage
No busloads of protestors from around the country
No influx of community activists taking to the streets
No call to burn down the city
No rioting or looting of any kind
No call for a DOJ investigation
No statements from the office of the President

Why is that?

My heart goes out to the families of all Law Enforcement officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice in an attempt to protest us all.
