......in Atlantic City back in the 1980s but these chips were poor quality (brittle and subject to breakage) and Trump Plaza rejected ALL of these chips - entire rack 10,000s of chips from $1 to $5000. The rejected chip order led to Burt Co. of Portland, Maine - manufacturer of these chips going out of business.
These chips are around in some quantity - higher denominations $1000 and $5000 are harder to find. There are also different color combinations for most of these chips - 2 or 3 per denomination.
