A woman in Canada . . .

A woman in Canada sought treatment for depression. About two years ago, U.S. border agents refused to allow her to come into the U.S.A. because of her mental health. She never told them she had been treated, but they had access to her Canadian health records.

Not only do people face bizarre consequences for run-of-the-mill mental health issues, but there is no assurance their health records will remain confidential. It's no wonder people are afraid to seek help.
