A better explanation would be: On the ChipGuide we want to include images of chips in the condition of original manufacture. Anything can happen after the chips leave the casino and we are not interested in cataloging damaged or weathered chips. The only exceptions are modifications made by the casino, for example ... hot stamp overprints or any type of cancellation. When we cannot get an image of a chip in "mint" condition, we do accept images of chips that show wear.
We also reject images of chips if part of the chip is cut off, the image is too small, the colors are wrong or the image is out of focus.
