20 years ago, Kay and I would take the train from LA to Colorado, The train would stop at the LV station for 10-12 minutes. They would warn you not to leave the platform. Fred's plan, I would run across the street and play BJ for 7-8 mins. at the LVC or Golden Gate and run back to train with two shrimp cocktails, and Kay would be in a panic that I would miss the train, it was close a couple of times but always made it.
