Las Vegas Club to close its doors Wednesday night
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Another piece of downtown Las Vegas real estate is changing hands.
The Las Vegas Club, which is situated at the Fremont Street Experience just off North Main Street, is being sold to the parent company of fellow downtown casinos The Golden Gate and The D.
The club will close at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, according to Lisa Robinson with public relations firm Faiss Foley Warren.
In a statement by the current operator of the Las Vegas Club, the casino is slated to close temporarily once under the ownership of 18 Fremont Street Acquisition LLC, which is headed by brothers Derek Stevens and Greg Stevens.
"The Tamares Group, owner of the Las Vegas Club, and PlayLV, its operator, had been working on various development prospects for the Las Vegas Club," PlayLV CEO Jonathan Jossel said in a statement. "But it is clear that the sale of the property provides a greater opportunity for the future of the company, its staff and the Fremont Street neighborhood."
The Plaza Hotel and Casino, which is owned by Tamares Group, will take in outgoing workers of the Las Vegas Club following the closure, according to Jossel.
Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
