People do collect ephemera...
In principle, I kind of agree with the 'no gift shop' restriction. That's when I'm thinking about some of the beads, picture frames, feathered pens and other gaudy/tacky items that are in the gift shops of today.
We have some really really cool mirror/thermometer advertising pieces. I don't know if they were gift-shop items, casino give aways, or something else. But...they are very cool and I can't imagine them not qualifying for inclusion into the MOGH, because they might be "gift shop items". Oh...AND they are RARE!!!! I don't know how many were made, or how many might be left...but there can't be many. I don't seem to have scans of them on this computer, or I'd post them. I'll switch computers and put them in a new post later.
What about toiletries? Soaps, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, shower caps, mending kits.... Again, in principle I'd say no. BUT...we have a bar of soap from the Apache, and one from the Sal Sagev. In my mind those have gone from being toiletries, to being historical artifacts.
At this point, because I'm not actively contributing, and not an administrator, I don't feel like my opinion should carry a lot of weight...but I still get to have/express an opinion.
Here's some soaps....
And here's more...just one side of the bar....
