Hey Quintin,
Niagara is Awesome! I would stay on the Canadian side. It is super clean and is just beautiful in the warmer months! There are two Sheratons both of which are very nice and have Casinos. They are the two Canadian casinos there. If you go across the border to Buffalo on the American side there is another casino - The "Seneca". There are plenty of gardens and a conservatory. There is a street called Clifton hill with lots of tourist trap stuff like a Ferris wheel and a wax museum and I think a "Ripley believe it or not". I would reiterate what Bob said in that "Niagara on the Lake" is very quaint and picturesque. Lots of nice small town shops and handsome carriage rides. There are multiple vineyards. If you are into history there is an old wooden fort on the Canadian side called "Fort George" dating to about the war of 1812. There is also a cool stone fort on the American side - "Fort Niagara". It has been in the hands on the French, British and the Americans over the years. Tours are available for both with reenactors in period clothing. I hope you have a great time!
Peace,
Don
